Lagging

Wow, it’s been so long since we posted on our own blog! Shocking, disgraceful, lagging!

Let’s catch up.

In late Summer and Fall of 2022 I ran for a seat in the Oregon State legislature. It was an experience, a challenge a number of lessons learned and quite a shocking bit of confirmation bias confirmed.

Here I am with a campaign sign we just installed.

In 2023

We launched out into the consulting business full time.

We’ve started rebuilding a herd of beeves out on the pasture. We will find the right Highlander bull calf for the heifers here.

We bought cross breed calves from a grass fed dairy out on the coast. They will be a year old next month. that seems to be doing well. Again a new learning and experience stream. Feeder calves are NOT the same as calves born to the brood herd, raised by their mamma cows on farm. Feeder calves tend to wander and are a bit anarcho-beeves. They do their own thing and take no horn of correction.

Triple B on the front lawn.
Triple B a steer, out of the pasture and on the front lawn.

We will bring on more steers from the same source in June.

And for the first time is years we had Christmas in the house.

Overall I see that things are getting brighter and brighter unto the noon day sun.

This past weekend we had our first outdoor fire of the year. That was wonderful.

First fire in the firepit this weekend.
